Description
Lobelia inflata
Acts as a respiratory stimulant, anti-asthmatic, anti-spasmodic, expectorant, emetic. Systemic relaxant. Depressant action on the central and autonomic nervous system and on neuro-muscular action.
Traditional Uses:
Primarily used for bronchial asthma and bronchitis. May be a powerful respiratory stimulant and relaxant. Use for relaxation. Can be used for oedema, diarrhea, and dysentery. For venereal disease syphilis. Can be used in case of emergency during an angina or asthma attack and as well as anxiety attacks or hysteria.
Directions to use:
Infusion: Pour 1 cup of boiling water over ¼ – ½ teaspoonful of herb. Infuse for 10 – 15min. Strain and drink three times per day.
Safety precautions:
Do not use if pregnant or lactating. Use only as prescribed. Do not exceed dosage. High doses can lower blood pressure and suppress breathing that can lead to coma. Consult with a medical practitioner before use.
