Astringent, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, emmenagogue, vulnerary, anti-viral.
Traditional Uses:
Will help for pains associated with periods as well as ameliorating excessive bleeding. May ease the changes of puberty and menopause. For woman who are inclined to miscarriage and for strengthening of the fetus and uterus. For prolapse of the uterus and hernia. For the treatment of diarrhea. For epilepsy. Used as a heart strengthening remedy for wound fever or festering wounds. For multiple sclerosis.
Directions to use:
Infusion:Â Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 teaspoons of herb. Infuse for 10 – 15min. Strain and drink three times a day. Boil for a few minutes for a stronger dosage when used for diarrhea or mouthwash.
Safety precautions:
Do not use if pregnant or lactating. Interferes with iron absorption and other minerals. Consult with a medical practitioner before use.
