How does it work?
When applied to tooth surfaces it binds to plaque and bacteria and the surrounding soft tissues making calcium and phosphates available. Saliva will enhance the effectiveness of CPP-ACP. The flavour of the mousse also stimulates saliva flow. The longer it is maintained in the mouth the more effective the result.

What is the best time of day to use tooth mousse?
The best time is at night time just before bed. Remember that at night saliva flow is decreased to almost zero. Because the mousse binds to oral soft tissues and plaque and stimulates saliva flow the calcium and phosphates will be in the oral environment for extended periods of time. It should be applied after brushing and flossing.
In children with a high risk of developing cavities the mousse can be used twice daily.

Yes, It is completely natural and safe and is therefore effective for patients who are anti fluoride.
Can everyone use tooth mousse?
No. Although it is lactose free, it is derived from the milk protein, casein and therefore it should not be used on patients with milk protein allergies.
How is the tooth mousse applied?
After brushing and flossing at night before bedtime, the teeth are patted dry with tissue or gauze. A pea size smear of the cream is applied on the finger tip and smeared all over the tooth surfaces. Dental floss can be used to advance the cream between the teeth. The cream is then spread around the mouth by the tongue and is left for a few minutes.
The excess may be spat out and no food or drink is to be consumed after application.

Does tooth mousse contain fluoride?
No. There is a product in the range that contain fluoride that is called GC MI Paste.
