Traditional Uses:
May be beneficial in the treatment of colds and flu, dropsy. Used primarily for bruises, sprains, wounds, and chilblains. May be beneficial for the treatment of tumors (externally). Use as an emollient. For a cooling, healing ointment. For chapped hands
Directions to use:
Decoction: 1 teaspoon of leaves in 1 cup of cold water. Stand for 8-10 hours. Drink three times per day.
For an ointment: take 3 parts of leaves and heat them with 6 parts of melted Vaseline until the colour is extracted. Strain through a linen cloth with pressure and store.
Safety precautions:
Do not use if pregnant or lactating. Do not use the stems of this plant. Consult with a medical practitioner before use.
